Innovative coating for molding inserts for aluminum injection
Innovative coating for polymer molding inserts (plastic injection)
Developed within the scope of PPS2.2.7 of the INOV.AM Agenda, the Ultraglide and Duraglide coatings address tribological challenges such as improving the durability and performance of hybrid molds. Their range of applicability also extends to tools and components produced by subtractive manufacturing.
Cavities and inserts produced by metal AM (e.g., LPBF, DED) or polymer AM.
Short-run molds produced in high-performance polymers (e.g., PEEK, PA, photopolymer resins) that require surface protection to enable injection cycles.
Punches and dies with complex geometries produced by metal 3D printing, subjected to severe tribological loads.
This coating was developed within the scope of PPS2.2.7/WP02. Hybrid molds for polymer products, part of the INOV.AM Mobilizing Agenda, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
This Agenda aims to promote innovation and competitiveness in the Portuguese mold and tooling industry through the integration of advanced additive manufacturing technologies.
