The SAM - Smart Active Mould project aims to investigate an innovative solution at mould level to dynamically control the temperature of the injection moulding process for polymer parts. The new approach is based on new thin coating and additive manufacturing technologies, to provide increases in moulding quality without defects or distortions, reductions in part manufacturing time, the possibility of processing new materials and products with more complex and demanding specifications. The new solution represents a technological leap forward, as it is a pioneer in integrating different technologies into a single product aimed at injection moulding high-quality polymer components for high-end products.
