The Diamond & Hard Laser Coatings project aims to develop a set of solutions to increase the utilisation of critical equipment components and tools under higher operating conditions, as well as increasing their useful life, acting doubly to increase productivity by increasing performance and reducing costs. Within the scope of this project, coatings and a laser deposition process will be developed in order to modify the surface of the components, improving their mechanical characteristics, such as hardness and resistance to wear, increasing their performance and service life. The optimisation of surface topography, roughness and friction coefficient will also be studied and developed.
