PVD – PHYSICAL VAPOUR DEPOSITION

Fine coating process (2-5µm thick) vacuum deposition where a material is transformed into steam, finally transported and deposited on the surface of a substrate.

FEATURES:

High wear resistance due to special nanostructure that integrates high hardness and toughness;
Good performance in abrasive wear;

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:

Cutting Tools: coating for machinning hard materials >50 HRC. Good combination of Hot Hardness, wear resistance and high service temperature;
Injection Moulds: Coating of moulds components submitted to high temperatures like Al and Mg alloys. Plastic injection moulds components submitted to high wear, corrosion and seizing. Especially suitable for POM injection;
Forming Tools: All round coating for cutting, stamping and forging operations of metallic materials. Good wear resistance, toughness and friction coefficient;
General wear applications.
